Immigration Politics Hit The Runway
Immigration politics are taking a front-row seat in the world of fashion. If you thought that vanity only belongs on the catwalk, think again.
Apparently it also lives within ballot boxes. Just ask Rep. Anthony Weiner, who recently introduced a bill in Congress to make it easier for foreign models to get visas to work in the U.S.

Weiner comments to The Daily News,
“From Fashion Week to our vibrant publishing industry to the many designers that call New York City home, fashion is a vital part of our economy that drives thousands of jobs.”
Weiner’s political game has rubbed some fashionistas the wrong way, and has caused a heated debate between American-born beauties and immigrant fashion models.
Ex-supermodel, Janice Dickinson states,
“Forget trying to bring in new meat. Let’s divvy it up between the Americans on American soil, please.”
Immigration politics symbolizes a deep wound that crosses national borders. Sadly, it is constantly being bandaged by empty politics masked as progressive reform. To make matters worse, it has now grown into a debate between American models vs. immigrant models.
Step up and face facts…this is an issue bigger than Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima, and Camila Alves‘ paychecks combined.
Represent tu ideas and discuss.

So, let me get this straight, its okay for “Foreigners to stay as long as they are good looking? Well then Latinos can stay! Ha! But, I think that if they are considering giving visas to models what about the harworking people who contribute to this countries economy? The hardworking immigrants that are already here. Why should they be different? I don’t know what is going through congressmen’s minds, but they are not thinking about the bigger picture, they are thinking with their ” Pepperoni’s” if you ask me…
Honestly, this immigration problem has gotten out of control. We need to stop these people from coming in…it is no good for the future of this country.
These people?!?! Excuse me!? I cannot believe you reffered to us as these people. You need to check your privelege. Oh wait… you probably don’t know what that means.
Oh please. American actors/actresses models go overseas and make a killing. So why can’t foreign models come here. This is nothing more than the media promoting hatred so they can exploit it. That’s all they’re good for. Evil people.
Hater, STFU.
Thanks.
These people probably make the clothes on your back, and the food you eat everyday and many other things that you probably dont know what to do! They are the future of this country, what do ” Americans” do for this country that is so great? Not a damn thing!
“These people” doesn’t mean latinos, it means ILLEGALS. Lumping the two together as if they are one in the same is stupid, ignorant, etc. And it’s sad that people like you are doing that. I’m all for promoting my fellow latinos but just like anyone else we must follow the rules. If not stay out. RESPECT for all those that worked hard to get into this country LEGALLY. Not just latinos but immigrants from all around the world.
