tony awards

Latinos rejoice! The hit musical, ‘In The Heights’ pimped out the 62nd annual Tony Awards and won the award for “Best Musical.”

The Broadway show, featuring a vibrant depiction of la vida in Washington Heights, was originally nominated for a record of thirteen awards. The cast walked away with four Tony’s including, “Best Original Score,” “Best Choreography,” and “Best Orchestrations.”

Props to the shows creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda for delivering an inspiration speech during the award ceremony held at Radio City Music Hall yesterday,

“I used to dream about this moment; now I’m in it. Tell the conductor to hold the baton a minute. … Mr. Sondheim, look, I made a hat where there never was a hat, and a Latin hat at that.”

Keep pushing your dreams to the heights mi gente!
