Selena Gomez Talks Makeup (Yes, the 16-Year-Old)
Do you remember the first time your mother let you wear makeup? I know I do. I was 15 and was to attend my best friends quinceañera.
After much begging and pleading, my mom and I went to Clinique where I bought nude eye shadow, a barely-there rough, and clear mascara. Barely there makeup and I still felt like the prettiest girl in the place!
Nowadays, everything has changed. Little girls look up to teen icons like Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez who– not only wear makeup, but wear it on a daily basis no less– and think that’s how they’re supposed to dress.
But while Miley Cyrus is parading around in red lipstick as though she were on an episode on Sex and the City, at least Selena believes a more natural look is the way to go.
She tells OK! Magazine, “I always say natural’s the best way to go because when you go to a nice dinner and you darken your makeup up, they think ‘wow, that’s a difference’ rather than wearing the same thing every day and you just look normal every day. Natural’s always the best way to go.”
What do think, is Selena right to think that natural’s the best way to go? What’s your opinion on today’s teens? Let your voice be heard!

She’s 15!! Shouldn’t she still be playing with dolls?
What 15 year old still plays with dolls?
I just hope she suceeds without playing herself like Miley did.
Dolls ??? I am 15 myself and I dont even remember when was the last time I played with dolls. I think Selena is great and I agree with her opionion about natural look. I dont wear strong make up (no foundation lipsticks or any other crap) I stick to mascara and colourless r light pink lipgloss. It gives me natural look and when theres a party or some other ocassion and I do wear something like eyeliner or a bit of eyeshadow everyone is like ‘WOW you look great’ So I think theres no sense in wearing full heavy makeup everyday cos there would be no difference when you want to look different - everyone just would be used to it.
I hope Selena will keep up the way she is because (unlike Miley) shes a great rolemodel for other people (and me)
