UPDATE: Daddy Yankee Doesn’t Care Who He Pisses Off
After his public endorsement of Republican presidential candidate John McCain, and after having his ass handed to him by Obamista Fat Joe’s scathing criticisms, reggaetonero Daddy Yankee is standing by his McCain love!
DY recently told the New York Post:
“I don’t care who I piss off. This is about my ideals, not about making friends.”
And…
“McCain is the kind of man whose promises you can actually believe in. I’ll support him till the end”
Awww, how cute of Daddy Yankee to be so loyal! I’m sure this isn’t doing much for his street cred, though. I don’t know of any hombre that would take being called a “disgusting sellout” as well as Daddy Yankee has. Props to him!
But as one of our savvy Lossip readers pointed out in our previous post about the Daddy Yankee/Fat Joe feud, native Puerto Ricans (Daddy Yankee) can’t vote in presidential elections. As a commonwealth and not a state, Puerto Rico is only allowed to vote in the presidential primaries, and the boricuas got their vote months ago…and voted for Clinton!
U.S.-born Puerto Ricans (Fat Joe, b. New York) vote in the presidential election in November. I wonder if Daddy Yankee is aware of this little bit of political trivia?

Yeah Lossip does it all the time. Either that or the website management sucks. I have seen comments get deleted on other posts. I guess if you don’t stir up controversy, your comments get deleted.
Good for him for making a stand, standing up for what he believes in, encouraging others to do the same.
As for this crap with Fat Joe: of course that’s all he is going to say in response, because he’s ABOVE Fat Joe in so many ways, besides talent. sorry Fat Joe, i love you, but Daddy Yankee has got you in so many ways, he doesn’t have to make hateful, stupid comments in an attempt to stay relavent.

Hey thats what this country is about…the freedom to vote for what you want despite your background or ethinicity. Just because he is latino doesn’t mean he is obligate to vote for Obama. This site should be promoting latinos to vote depite their deiiferent opinions instead of putting someone down who doesn’t go with the flow. Voting Obama or McCain…shouldn’t depend on what color your skin is. This is an important election and we need all of our latino voters out there and they shouldn’t be embarrassed about who they choose. Get a clue Lossip.
Hey, Lossip, I think you’ve got it all wrong about how the boricuas get to vote! People born in Puerto Rico are U.S. citizens, period. It’s true that PR as an island only conducts primary elections, doesn’t vote in the general election for president. But if a person was born in PR and moved to a state that voted in the general election, he/she could vote there just like any other U.S. citizen. It’s all about current residence, not rights that travel with you once you’re born in PR.
