World Premiere of “Beverly Hills Chihuahua”
The story of a smooth-talking, straight loving chihuahua named “Papi” comes to the silver screen in Disney’s latest flick, “Beverly Hills Chihuahua.”
The film features talents from all today’s biggest Latino names, with George Lopez, Salma Hayek, Cheech Marin, Andy Garcia, Placido Domingo, and even Eddie “Piolin” Sotello lending their vocal talents to this comedy about a pampered chihuahua from Beverly Hills (voiced by Drew Barrymore) who gets left behind in Mexico after a trip with her owner.
Canine Casanova “Papi” (voiced by George Lopez) swoops in to rescue her, and in the process, helps her reacquaint herself with her Mexican heritage.
What a charming story. Now if only someone would do the same thing for Jessica Alba…

I have mixed feelings about this movie. I hate to turn something so innocent as a Chihuaha into something that kind of bothers me for being a negative stereotype. I don’t know how I feel about this represnetation of Mexicans in a Disney movie. I guess I am still waiting for that movie with a Latina Character. They did Aladdin and Mulan but not a Hispanic girl yet…
a black on too unless you count the lion king. but this movie, i don’t know.
