Is Salma An Atheist?

Salma1

Word on the street is that Salma Hayek is strongly against Catholicism, and refuses to baptize her baby girl Valentina simply because ’she doesn’t feel like it.’

A close friend tells La opinión,

“La niña ya va a cumplir seis meses, está linda. [Salma] no la quiere bautizar, porque no le da la gana. La he visto y me voy en Semana Santa con ella, cuatro días a su casa de Los Ángeles.”

“The baby girl is going to be 6 months, and she is beautiful. Salma does not want to baptize her because she doesn’t feel like it. I have seen her and I am spending Holy Week with her, 4 days in her Los Angeles home.”

Organized religion might not be Salma’s thing, but tradition wears pretty thick in our culture.

Do you think she should baptize baby Valentina?

It’s her decision, and if later in life, the child wants to get baptized, they can. No one should enforce their religious traditions on someone else’s child.

She shouldn’t be forced to baptize the child but I do think we should follow tradition. I am agnostic but I would still baptize my child because I don’t want my child to be damned because of my beliefs. I still wouldn’t bring my child to church but I would do at least that.

i’m not catholic but my family is. I went ahead and baptized my son in the catholic church but it took me a while to do so.it’s not up tp the child to decide wether to get baptized or not it’s our job as PARENTS…

I think that the baby should be baptized. I mean if her reasoning is just because she doesnt want to…that is kinda ill. Why not just baptize the poor girl?

Who cares!!?? Let them do whatever the hell they want to do with THEIR daughter. Geezus like she would be the only child in this world not to be baptized.

I agree…it doesnt matter. People can be spiritual in different ways.

I agree with Simply Me, Stacy and ever.

    yes

  10. Baptism should be about belief not tradition. If she doesn’t believe she should not do it because others pressure her to.
