As far as fashion goes, the ladies that walked the green carpet in Houston last night walked a line between experimental good taste and complete delusion, and often time, a mix of the two.

For example, boricua Kany Garcia (who happily enjoyed some Grammy wins last night) represents a perfect blend of “What was she thinking?” and “That’s not half bad.”

Her haircut is a little too Flock of Seagulls for my taste, but she’s young and cute and she can make it work. And some wise fashionista informed her that purple is one hot color to wear this fall, so she gets a tentative nod of approval from us.

Others were not quite as lucky. Alejandra Guzman already got busted by us, so we’ll leave her alone for now (even though she walked last night’s carpet looking like a chicken someone tried to strangle).

One of my favorite Spaniards, Rosario Flores (did anyone see Almodovar’s Hable Con Ella?), sadly fell blindly into bad taste with her hot mess of an outfit. Thigh high boots? Crotch-baring dress? Girl, that look didn’t work for J. Lo, and its not working for you.

Mexicana Adriana Fonseca is tasting the “Gisele” lifestyle for la causa.

The actress was looking stunning and polished, modeling delicate frocks at the Red Dress Show for The American Heart Association.  The event took place on October 3rd in Miami, where Adriana had a chance to show a few different pieces in the spirit of hearts.

At least these sporadic superficial dress-up gigs justify means to an end and these women aren’t only posing to worship their own flashed paparazzi reflections.
