Belén Rueda Ready for Los Oscares
This just in!
Spanish Actress Belén Rueda presented “Los Girasoles Ciegos,” as the film that will represent Spain in the next Academy Awards race.
La Española, who won a Goya Award in 2004 for her role as Julia in Mar Adentro (The Sea Inside) and received another Goya nomination for her role in the 2007 film, The Orphanage, showed up at the press conference with a casual chic black velvet jacket and plenty of smiles on September 26 in Madrid, Spain.
Being half Spanish (and half Colombian), I am very proud of her. Me da mucho orgullo esta mujer.
I, for example, love that Belén is blonde and has green eyes. It reminds the people of the world who think all Latinas are indigenous looking with barbecue skin, dark thick eyebrows and long black hair that people of Latin American or Spanish Speaking descent are not all brown! We are actually mixed like everybody else. Oh, and we don’t all have names like Maria or Margarita either and can actually speak more than one language.
So think again.
I’m milky, transparent- pale, my hair is dark blonde and Spanish is my first language, just like Belén.
Sólo un pequeño dato curioso.
More Belén photos ahead…
