Gloria and Emilio Estefan attended the Seven Daughters Wine Party in Miami over the weekend. The couple was caught chatting up a storm with the event host, diva nut job Rachael Ray.

Recording artist Gloria Estefan canceled her trip to Mexico to instead be at her mother’s side after her October 14 intestinal rupture that worsened as a result of severe infection. The Cuban singer was originally scheduled to travel to Mexico to promote her new album 90 Millas.

Gloria Estefan performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Disney World on the Fourth of July, which played host to a ceremony for newly sworn-in American citizens. Adriana Wardle, photographed with the Cuban songstress above, is one such citizen.
If there is one thing people can never say about Gloria, is she never gave up her Cuban roots. And still she’s always been proud to be an American. It’s always nice to come across individuals, such as Gloria, who realize that you can be an American, without ever giving up one’s heritage and culture.
Despite what you may hear, Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s publicist have confirmed that they have not yet been asked to be the godparents to Thalía and Tommy Mottola’s first child. It was the Estebans that had introduced Thalía and Tommy over 7 years ago. Dang, Tommy is 58 years old and Thalía is only 35 years old. Must be nice being an old man married to a young woman. Think he’ll be having kids in his 60s like Julio Iglesias?
Fabio Alonso Salgado, widely known in the music community as Estéfano, was shot by his marijuana dealer of five years, the Brazilian-born Francisco ”Junior” Oliveira.
The distinguised Colombian producer and songwriter remains in critical condition following a gunshot to the chest and the back of his head on Friday night, while at his waterfront mansion in Miami.
Estéfano has worked with popular Latin singers Ricky Martin, Shakira, Jennifer López, Marc Anthony, Paulina Rubio, Chayanne, Thalía, Julio Iglesias, Gloria Estefan, Jon Secada, Alexandre Pires, and Jerry Rivera.
Maybe he’ll get lucky and be prescribed some medicinal marijuana. One can only hope!

Gloria Estefan was number 20 on The Giving Back Fund List, with her $1 million dollar contribution to the Miami Paralysis Project.
The List is a compilation of celebs who have made the greatest personal public contributions to charity in 2006. Not surprisingly, Oprah topped the chart with a whopping $58,300,000 million.
I’m very ashamed to report, however, that Gloria was the only Latin celebrity on the list. What does that say about us? Hopefully someone will step up to the plate this year and make us proud.
