‘Hellboy II’ Release Party

I don’t know if I’m alone in this, but frankly, I think director Guillermo Del Toro has one terribly adorable face! He looks like a happy little boy…with a beard…who likes creating disturbing fantasy worlds in his imagination. Whatever. You can’t say the man isn’t a visionary.

While the rest of the world is enraptured with CG, good old Guillermo still finds merit in elaborate costume and set design, some of which were on display for yesterday’s DVD and Blu-Ray release party for “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” in Los Angeles.

Click for more pictures of Guillermo, his actors, and his ingeniously odd costumes, and see that, while I may appreciate Guillermo’s art, I’m not really trying to mack up on his characters a la Selma Blair.

Guillermo Del Toro Takes a Stab at Vampires

Visionary director Guillermo De Toro is taking a hint from Hollywood and following this season’s money-making trail straight to…vampires? In light of the upcoming release cult favorite “Twilight,” it seems that vampire-love is all the rage these days. Who knew?

The monster-making mexicano who brought us “Hellboy” and “Pan’s Labyrinth” will now try his hand at writing novels, collaborating with crime writer Chuck Hogan on what will ultimately be a trilogy of vampire tales.

The first book in this pre-planned trilogy, “The Strain” is set to his stores some time next summer. So what do you think? Will De Toro’s foray into literature be a hit? Or is he better off sticking to his movies?

Del Toro’s Hellboy Returns

Mexican filmmaker, Guillermo del Toro knows how to work his magic on the big-screen. He is known for visual masterpieces like Pan’s Labyrinth and The Devil’s Backbone. This summer, the Academy Award-nominated director is preparing to lure fans back into the fantasy world of Hellboy.

Del Toro is working on launching the highly anticipated sequel, Hellboy II, by July 2008. Este hombre tiene talento! Get an exclusive look at the movie trailer.

El Guapo Gael García Bernal

The ever handsome Gael García Bernal joined some of the film industry’s finest Latin Directors, such as Guillermo Del Toro, Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Alfonso Cuarón, at this year’s 2007 Cannes Film Festival in France.

He is by far one of the most delicious men (dare I say) ever!! I would swallow him whole if I could! ¡Que rico!
