I love love love this.
Via the BBC:
An estimated 500,000 people have downloaded the insult featuring the words “Why don’t you shut up?”, generating a reported 1.5m euros ($2m).
King Juan Carlos asked Hugo Chavez to “shut up” at a summit in Chile last week after the president said Spain’s ex-PM Jose Maria Aznar was a “fascist”.
Branded mugs, t-shirts and websites featuring the row are also profitable.
In Venezuela, a group of students who oppose Mr Chavez’s government have also been downloading the ringtone, a US newspaper reported.
“It’s a form of protest,” a 21-year-old student in Caracas told the Miami Herald. “It’s something that a lot of people would like to tell the president.”
Amen to that, brother.

Model Naomi Campbell has joined the ranks of Kevin Spacey and Sean Penn in meeting with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in Caracas Oct. 31.
Via Rush and Malloy:
The supermodel said, “I’m not here to be political” as she met with the left-wing Venezuelan president, though she reportedly said, “I hate Bush” when she was in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Why is it that American celebs love Chavez so much? I must be missing something. How do you guys feel about Hugo Chavez and the love celebs have for him?

It seems American actors can’t get enough of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. First, Sean Penn met with the president back in August, and now it seems Kevin Spacey is jumping on the bandwagon as well.
While in Venezuela, Spacey was said to have visited a $13 million film studio founded by the government to support Venezuelan filmmaking as an alternative to the “cultural imperialism” of Hollywood.
Of all the people I would care to meet, one can rest assure that Chavez would not be on my list. Unless it were to spit on his face.
