It was all fancy cocktails and preppy vests last night in L.A., as another club held another celeb-infested event (this time, it was Dsquared2 and W Event at Chateau Marmont).

Among the guests were actress Zoë Saldaña and singing diva Christina Aguilera, both of whom tried to work the tailored magic of a vest.

Where Zoë tried to create a long silhouette by wearing black pants with a black vest over a white shirt, she almost ended up looking like a very tall, very skinny, penguin. Sadly, Christina was no better (pictured above with designers Dean and Dan Caten). She’s sending conflicting messages with her look.

On one hand, its warm enough to wear a boob-hugging vest with nothing underneath. On the other hand, she felt compelled the top the whole look off with a long, wool scarf.

Neither one of these mujeres really rocked their look as fiercely as they could have, but one inevitably must look better than the other!

Mujeres have been dominating the “¿Quién luce mejor?” battleground for far too long. I believe it is now time to put men up for a little judgment too. Hopefully, we’ll be able to settle that age old question of which is more desirable: crazy, bird-like pseudo intellectuals or the strong, studly, silent type with an unusually large forehead?

Actors Gael Carcia Bernal and Rodrigo Santoro both walked the red carpet this weekend in Rome for amfAR’s 2nd Annual Cinema Against AIDS dinner and charity auction. Fashion really isn’t the order of the day here, as both men wore a classic black suit (although for some reason, Gael decided he wanted to style his look up with some mad scientist glasses).

The world-renowned venezolana Carolina Herrera showed her Autumn/Winter 2008 collection yesterday in Mexico City, where two more world-renowned bellezas showed up to rep their love of Carolina.

The boricua beauty, Miss Universe 2006 Zuleika Rivera (with the curly hair) and the lovely mexicana Miss Mundo 2006 Carolina Moran (in the black leggings) both hit the red carpet before the show in sexy -but why matching?- slinky, silver dresses.

The “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2″ premiered in New York last night and sassy chicas America Ferrera and Adrienne Baillon were in full blast glamour mode. The Ugly Betty star shined in the dazzling azul dress while the sexy Cheetah Girl looked remarkable in a flowing sea foam green dress.

We often give props to las damas for their red carpet estilo, but the fellas deserve just as much attention! Victor Manuelle and David Bisbal appeared like true dons at Univision’s special honor ceremony for singer Jose Jose in Miami last night.

Victor was seen rocking a traditional gray suit and white collared shirt with a stylish metallic finish. The Puerto Rican salsero finished off the sharp look with a pimped-out striped tie.

David added a modern touch to his look with a black blazer jacket with suede details. He remixed his tie wear by simply tying it up like a messy scarf.

The New York International Latino Film Festival is in full swing and las damas are strutting their beauty to the fullest. Actress Melonie Diaz and Jaslene Gonzalez were spotted rocking their best at the screening of “American Son,” a film about the struggle of war and the strength of familia.

Diaz was wearing a classic black cocktail dress paired with a delicately slim belt and matching sling-back shoes, while la Flaca was modeling a bright mini baby-doll dress with dramatic drop-earrings. Jaslene contrasted the look with baby blue ribbon sandals and a side-sweep bun.
