Latinos rejoice! The hit musical, ‘In The Heights’ pimped out the 62nd annual Tony Awards and won the award for “Best Musical.”
The Broadway show, featuring a vibrant depiction of la vida in Washington Heights, was originally nominated for a record of thirteen awards. The cast walked away with four Tony’s including, “Best Original Score,” “Best Choreography,” and “Best Orchestrations.”
Props to the shows creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda for delivering an inspiration speech during the award ceremony held at Radio City Music Hall yesterday,
“I used to dream about this moment; now I’m in it. Tell the conductor to hold the baton a minute. … Mr. Sondheim, look, I made a hat where there never was a hat, and a Latin hat at that.”
Keep pushing your dreams to the heights mi gente!

Las estrellas were shining bright at last night’s Vogue Magazine Costume Institute gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. The exhibit theme might have been ‘Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy,’ but Jennifer Lopez and Eva Longoria flowed down the red carpet like pura damas.
J.LO was representing for all the fierce baby mamas in a long textured gown revealing her amazing post-pregnancy figure. Her old Hollywood look was finished off with a classy silver clutch and stunning diamond jewelry.
Homegirl, Eva also transformed into a red carpet renegade in a plum colored couture gown. The elegant textured look drew plenty of attention and complimented the star perfectly.
Both of these ladies prove to be true fashionistas, but who do you think rocks their look the best?
Latin Billboard awards host, Aylin Mujica was modeling the fake bronze look like a pro last night! To match her golden glow, the star was also seen wearing several tacky gowns on stage.
It seemed like her wardrobe changes revealed one stripper gown after another! Her nipples were dying to pop out of at least half of those dresses!
We don’t think her estilo transformations deserve any applause, but there were a bunch of red carpet estilo misses at last night’s awards.
Check out our red carpet pics and vote on your best and worst dressed!
Penelope Cruz followed the feathered trend and strutted down this year’s red carpet in a black strapless Chanel Haute Couture gown.
The actress went from 2007 Academy Award nominee for her work in “Volver,” to 2008 award presenter. This might explain why she appeared more glamorous at last year’s event when she wore a beautifully designed blush Versace gown.
As expected, Javier Bardem walked out a big winner for his unforgettable performance in the film No Country For Old Men. The actor snagged the 80th Annual Academy Award for “Best Supporting Actor” at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood last night.
Props to Javier for having such a successful year and for sharing the glory with his lovely mother Pilar Bardem.
Wondering how Javier celebrated his win? Find out right after the jump!
Eva Longoria shared the family love at the Los Angeles premiere of her latest film, Over Her Dead Body. The lovely actress looked beautiful in a petal pink dress while posing for pictures with her proud parents.
Longoria is known for being una mujer de familia. In 2006, she purchased a house for her family and stated the following on the Oprah show,
“I never knew we were that poor … because [we] grew up with a lot of love and my family’s really close. [Since buying the house] every day my mom wakes up and says, ‘I feel like I won the lottery!’”
Share the love Longoria! I wonder if she is that giving to ‘distant cousins’ knocking on her door and saying, ‘Remember me…I’m your prima Juana?’
Regardless, Eva proves that she is wealthy in more ways than one.
Grey’s Anatomy star, Sara Ramirez shined at the SAG Awards red carpet in a bright Angel Sanchez gown.
Ramirez’s healthy curves blows all those skinny bitches out of the water! The Mary Norton shoes and stylish Bo Chic jewels added to her look beautifully.
“Ugly Betty” actress, America Ferrera, made a red carpet appearance in a classy lace Monique Lhuillier gown. The show snagged no awards, and unfortunately, the dress doesn’t either.
Ferrera’s gown just looks dull and unflattering standing next to Vanessa Williams‘ hot yellow dress. Spice it up next time chica!
Javier Bardemdominated the 2008 SAG Awards last night. The critically acclaimed film, No Country For Old Men, won for “Outstanding Performance By A Cast In A Motion Picture” and “Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Supporting Role.”
Javier Bardem managed to look good enough to eat! He played the role of a true don in a classic Prada suit and open-collar white shirt. Too bad he appeared at the red carpet solo!
His relationship withPenelope Cruzhas officially reached a shady status in my book, but I think the bachelor look fits Javier just fine.
